Below are free music teaching resources for teachers in UK schools to help you save time spent on lesson planning for Key Stages 1, 2, 3 and 4. Key Stage 1

With Sing Up teachers can download free songs, lesson plans, warm activities and more. There are sections for news, school awards, a magazine and more.

Using HWB’s resources you can create a sound picture to help pupils make links between sounds  and images.

Key Stage  2

A fun BBC game is Musical Mysteries where children can copose their own tunes and learn about rhyming, musical instruments and use of moods. Flash Player is required.

Pupils can compose using a Virtual Keyboard accompaniesd by drumbeats. This tool can assist with work towards the National Curriculum of England’s ‘Composing and Appraising elements.

Key Stage 3

The Dallas Symphony Orchestra’s Kids site is a guide to instruments, orchestras and composers.

Teachers can learn about Starting a  School Band or Orchestra with the Music by Arrangement website.

Key Stage 4

Animated Music Theory Lessons are provided by a website that includes lessons, exercises and useful tools.
