St Mary’s School

One of the most common reasons for a school not to employ a learning platform is due to a previous bad experience. That was the case with St Mary’s School, Ardleigh. The Essex-based primary school’s previous VLE had been “laborious,” according to Sandra Wignall, their ICT Technician. Teachers at the school had subsequently been turned off – and a solution was required.

Sandra was looking for a learning platform that was easier for the staff to upload to, that was colourful and child-friendly and that would inspire both staff and pupils to use it regularly. Another requirement was a separate area for governors and staff to upload documents. Learnanywhere, Webanywhere’s popular primary school learning platform ticked all the boxes.

After a straightforward set-up process, which included on-site staff training and regular contact with the Webanywhere team, St Mary’s had a virtual learning environment that was not only easier to use than staff had been used to before – but was also popular with the children.

Learnanywhere is now a central part of school life at St Mary’s. It engages the children, teachers and governors – and even allows parents to be more involved in the child’s school life, too. Parents can view the content uploaded to Learnanywhere by teachers, via their computer at home.

Having invested in Learnanywhere, St Mary’s are pleased with how it’s transformed school life, in a way their previous VLE never did.
