Primary School Moodle

SchoolAnywhere, a subdivision of WebAnywhere, are an official Moodle Partner offering Moodle learning platform services to schools in the UK. We have been working with schools throughout England, Wales and Scotland for over three years.


We specialise in adapting Moodle to the specific needs of infant and primary schools, and provide in-depth training and support targeted towards less "technically minded" users. The idea is to take the best aspects of classroom practice and use Moodle to transfer them into the home environment.

 

Each child is different and will take a different path, which is why the provision of personalised learning is so important. At SchoolAnywhere we share the vision of the primary teaching providers that we work with, which is to treat each child as an individual and bring out their potential with the use of ICT in education.

 

With well-designed, made-to-measure Moodle learning platforms we help each school to raise standards in teaching and learning and offer up-to-the minute information for KS1 and KS2 pupils.

 

We also have a friendly technical team, ready and waiting to support non-technical teaching staff with the training and development of their Moodle sites.

Moodle Solutions

We have two different Moodle solutions available for primary schools; the ‘hosted’ and the ‘in-school’ Moodle.  The hosted Moodle is the easier option, as it involves SchoolAnywhere managing the hosting of your school’s Moodle.  The in-School Moodle allows your VLE (Virtual Learning Environment) to be hosted on a dedicated server at your school.

 

From our experience the in-school Moodle has been shown to give a number of notable advantages, significantly:

  • Lower costs for ongoing web hosting and subscriptions
  • Pages generally load 2-3 times quicker
  • Reduced load on your internet connection
  • Should your internet connection fail, Moodle will still be accessible
  • Moodle integrates with internal services, such as Active Directory for single sign on
  •  The entire system is backed up and remotely managed by experts

We brand your Moodle with your school colour scheme and logo so that your learning platform is easily recognisable for both pupils and teachers. Our design team will ensure that your Moodle learning platforms is child and user-friendly.

Site Hosting

All our servers are regularly backed up, resilient and stable. This guarantees that there is no downtime for your Moodle website and that it will be available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

Technical Support

We offer full support via the phone or by email so that your users and admin staff can maintain the smooth running of your Moodle learning environment.

Training

We provide comprehensive training services to provide you with the necessary knowledge and skills to tailor Moodle for your school. Our hands-on training sessions involve two styles of presentation:

  • On site group teacher training sessions.
  • One to one remote training, which uses "Beam your Screen" technology.

Course Layout Management

The style of your Moodle lessons and courses can be tailored to your school's requirements. Here at SchoolAnywhere, we work alongside your teaching staff to structure your Moodle according to your needs. We can also add other interesting elements to your Moodle site such as Wikipedia, BBC Newsround RSS feeds, Google search boxes, and Clocks.

Moodle Content

All our Primary School Moodles include tailored PowerPoints following the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority (QCA) guidelines for History, Geography, Science, French, and RE. These learning resources can be used in class and at home.
