Before WebAnywhere can schedule training for your school, we need to find out if the software we are going to install will be able to connect to your website. The software we use connects to your site via FTP, or File Transfer Protocol. If this is not permitted on your school network at the moment, we will need to postpone training until FTP access has been enabled. This is usually only a question of contacting your technician or network support team and advising them that you require FTP access from one or more computers to update the school website.
To test whether you currently have FTP access from a given computer, follow the steps below to try and connect to our testing server.
To begin with, open Internet Explorer, and click on 'Tools',
In the drop down menu click 'Internet Options',
In the Internet Options menu, click the 'Advanced' tab,
Make sure that the checkbox 'Enable folder view for FTP sites' is ticked (as pictured below),
Then press OK, and close Internet Explorer, and proceed to Step One.

Step One: Testing whether you have FTP access to our test server
To test whether you currently have FTP access from within your school, simply click on the link below:
When the page has loaded, you should see various icons, as below:

This indicates that you have successfully connected to our server. (The number of folders titled 'New Folder' may vary.)
Step Two- Testing whether you are able to make changes to files on our test server
Right click on one of the folders titled 'New Folder', and select the option 'Delete'.
When a box appears asking if you are sure you want to delete, click 'Yes'
The folder should disappear.
After Step One I get an error message and cannot view the icons as shown in the picture above. |

After Step One nothing happens. |
