5 Quiz Generators

Quiz generators have plenty of uses in class. They’ll save you preparation time, fit in nicely as a starter or plenary, they’ll even help inform your assessment if used correctly at the end of a unit. Here are five of our favourites for you to use in class.
Fling the teacher – A customisable flash game from the fantastic Content Generator website. Answer 15 questions correctly to catapult the teacher into the distance. Useful for whole class sessions on an interactive whiteboard.
BGfL Quiz Creator – A flexible quiz generator that could be used as a whole lesson activity for your class. The option to provide links and extra resources with each of your multiple choice questions, means students can be encouraged to research answers independently.
Quizbox – Basic, but easy to use, Quizbox makes it simple to design a multiple choice quiz. Each quiz comes with an embed code so you can put in your school website or blog for anyone to try.
Hot Potatoes - This downloadable application has 6 different quiz styles including jumbled sentences and crosswords. While you could take these quizzes as whole class, they can also be embedded into a VLE like Moodle or Learnanywhere, so students can try them on their own.
School Mocks – Create your own online multiple choice quiz complete with matching images using School Mocks. The site also has a library of past submissions, categorised by subject and grade, for you to use as well.
