We’re hosting a series of workshops at the Education & Technology Conference that aim to do exactly this by providing free guidance to teachers from a wide range of classrooms from across the country.
John Devlin, Headteacher at Our Lady of Victories RC School, will outline the ways in which his school have made use of Radio broadcasts and e-portfolio’s to raise standards and improver the confidence of his pupils. This includes examples of really interesting cross curricular projects and will include demonstrations by pupils from the school.
Kristian Still, Assistant Headteacher at Hamble Community Sports College, is well known for his ideas about the effective use of ICT in the classroom. In his workshop he will provide tries and tested examples of integrating moodle into schools effectively.
Games based learning has been doubted by some in the past. Michael Wilkinson of I Am Learning provides a series of examples of the ways in which games have been used to good effect in both Primary and secondary classrooms and illustrates ways in which they can help to raise attainment.
Gareth Boldsworth and pupils from St Anne’s School are providing a hands on workshop that shows some of the many ways in which lego can be used to teach a variety of skills.
Jane Bartle of Coxhoe Primary School provides a workshop that will shuggest a series of ways in which a school can utilise the Internet to raise its profile and improve communications with parents, pupils and the wider community.
Fin Barnes of 5 a day fitness promises to get people moving in a physical workshop designed to show numerous fun ways of incorporating a healthy lifestyle into the curriculum.
Georgina Jackson of Miriam Lord Primary School highlights ways in which courses have been developed in the primary orientated VLE, Learnanywhere. This workshop is ideal for any Primary teachers who are considering the development of online learning.
Andrew from Espresso shows how schools are using a variety of mediums to enhance teaching and learning.
