Attend the free Education and Technology Conference 2011

You might have seen in our news area that we’re hosting the Education & Technology Conference at Elland Road, Leeds on June 28th.

The conference provides an opportunity to get some free CPD. There are a range of workshops on offer that explore a wide range of areas relating to Educational Technologies in various guises. For example: we’ve got Lego running a workshop about how their products can be effectively used in the classroom; Espresso are running a session exploring ways of effectively integrating content into VLE’s and making good use of it in lessons; 5 a day fitness will be doing a session that shows us how to get kids active and engaged at the same time; Teachers are lined up to run workshops that look at the uses of E-Portfolios; Moodle; VLE’s in general; podcasting and video and a great deal more…

The keynote speaker is the world renowned Sugata Mitra. Sugata’s Hole in the Wall experiment led to some fascinating results as supposedly illiterate youngsters grappled with previously unseen technology and taught themselves not only how to use computers and the Internet but also new languages!

Updates about confirmed workshops and speakers will be added to this blog post and also added to the website of this Education and Technology Conference for Classroom Innovation held in Leeds, West Yorkshire.
