Open University chooses Moodle 2.0 as their LMS of the future

Written by Av Srivastava   // November 23, 2010   // Comments Off

Yet more evidence that Moodle is the VLE of choice for some of the largest organisations…..we learned this week that after undertaking a thorough assessment of the competition in the LMS / VLE space,  the Open University has chosen to use Moodle as its primary Virtual Learning Environment (VLE) into the foreseeable future.   The OU already uses some of the standard tools provided in Moodle (forum, blog, wiki and quiz engine); what’s new is that OU is now developing their Moodle platform to provide support for mobile devices, integration with Google Apps for Education,  facilities for personalisation and enhance the handling of user generated content.
